I wish I could tell every young person with a uterus (especially with bad cramps and/or dysphoria and/or depression, etc) that there is a decent chance they just straight up donât need to live with that. donât let the stigma surrounding contraceptives and the expectation that you should just ride it out and suffer win. for the love of god if thereâs a chance you can lighten or even stop your period and itâs symptoms all-together, unless thereâs a legit health concern, your doctor should at least make you aware of that option. I want every young person to know that âbirth controlâ is not just for birth control and it has the potential to make your life infinitely easier to live. do not give in to anti-pill propaganda im serious
#kibumblabs#I remember being in late high school and my doctor suggesting it because of how terrible my dysphoria/related depressive episodes related to#menstrual cycle shit is. and like. im not saying it was a flawless transition but good god im serious it changed my fucking life#not to the extent testosterone would but it was still like. a Big Deal#because I was like. what the fuck. Iâve been suffering through this shit for years. and no one told me this was a thing? weâre all just#expected to suffer? because itâs âNormalâ????#this whole time I could just. turn the bleeding off. or at least Down. turn off the debilitating breast soreness and swelling. etc.#anyway im not sure why im thinking about this but#i guess every time i hear someone (without any known health issues thatâd interfere) like ah time for my monthly Week Of Pain And Misery#i want to shake them by the shoulders like. YOU DONT NEED TO LIVE LIKE THIS. PLEASE I JUST WANT YOU TO BE AWARE OF THIS.#and yes i know it doesnât work for everyone or sometimes thereâs side effects that make it not worth it or what have you#but for a huge huge huge amount of people. they just donât know itâs an option. because itâs labelled Birth Control. and because thereâs#this long-standing quiet fear mongering about it that makes it seem more dangerous and sinister and promiscuous than it is#similar in a lot of ways to other stigmatized hormone treatments. like. well. you know#doesnât help that when you first get your prescription it comes with the worlds biggest list of Potential Issues (most of which are either#minor temporary or unlikely)#grahhghhhhhhhhh anyway. on a seperate but related note shout out to my fellow tboys who either didnât have their periods totally stop on t#or (like in my case) they came back after like Years for whatever reason and that had to be dealt with via supplementary contraceptives#cw menstruation

Just want to take moment to give this knowledge out to all my period-suffering peeps.
Everyone knows about birth control. Itâs a pill, or you can get like an iud or you can get surgery to get specific organs removed/tied up, right? Well, the concept of needing to go under the knife to reduce periods seems extreme (and expensive.)
So whatâs a person to do?
Ask you doctor for Extended Cycle Birth Control Pills.
Theyâre an oral med, but they reduce your number of periods from 12 times a year to a measly four times a year. On some insurances, these are completely covered, but even with my shitty insurance that doesnât cover it, theyâre roughly 30 a month. Honestly, when you think of the cost of all the Cycle supplies you donât have to buy (including excess pain meds, icy hots, and comfort items) they really pay for themselves.
And perhaps most importantly, when they do finish their cycle, and you period starts, Iâve found this medication has severely reduced the pain/time/heaviness of my periods, to the point where theyâre basically only 2-3 days long, and a basic Tylenol makes the pain go away!
Anyway, it might be that everyone knows about these and I just missed out, but considering the amount of sex ed we donât have in my country, I doubt it. Anyway, I just wanted to spread the news!
#menstrual health#period cramps#birth control#planned parenthood#seriously when my doctor#mentioned a birth control#that could cut periods down to a third#it was life changing

Finally some common sense news
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) â Transgender women are not eligible for menstrual leave as they do not have uteruses and do not menstruate, the Ministry of Labor (MOL) said on Thursday (Feb. 10).
CNAÂ reported that after a transgender woman recently applied to take a menstrual day off at her company, the company was unsure of whether she was eligible and asked the local government. The local government passed the question on to the MOL, which consulted the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW).
The MOHW responded to the MOL with an explanation from the Taiwan Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology (TAOG), that transgender women who have received gender reassignment surgery and officially registered their changed sex do not have uteruses and do not menstruate. Since the purpose of the menstrual leave is to provide relief to those who may suffer physical discomfort at work while menstruating, the policy does not apply to transgender women as they do not go through the experience.
According to the Act of Gender Equality in Employment, female employees may legally apply to take one day off for menstrual leave each month if they experience menstruation-related discomfort that prevents them from working. The employees do not need to provide any documentation to apply, and employers may not refuse, issue a penalty, or deem the day off as an absence that affects the employeeâs attendance bonus or performance evaluation.
CNA cited the MOL as saying that there is no age limit to employees eligible for the menstrual leave, therefore older women may also take a day off each month as needed. Meanwhile, for women whose uterus or ovary has been removed due to health concerns, as long as the employee still ovulates and experiences discomfort due to hormonal changes, she is eligible for the menstrual leave.

Today on people need to be clearer when talking about menstrual health:
The definition of "Heavy Bleeding" needs to be more descriptive. Every place I've seen it talked about only defines it with how frequently you soak your pad/tampon
For the first time today I saw blood clot size referenced and hey if you are having blood clots larger than like a grape you probably also have heavy bleeding! Congratz!
#martian ramblings#menstruation#menstrual health#endometriosis#back before i was on meds to stop it I would have multiple large clots that never made it to my pad#because they would be stuck in my vagina until I could make it to a toilet#and since my periods were primarily clots my pads would only have to be changed like a couple times a day#so i didn't think I had heavy bleeding#i mean i also thought the clots were the period#i was like 'oh ok the bloods solid i wasn't expecting that but they also said it was related to our eggs and this looks like a yolk'#my prescription for the drugs that stop my period is up to i need to talk to my gynecologist again#so i'm arming myself with knowledge because every doctor seems to be dismissing my health concerns#despite my periods being debilitating in pretty much every possible way#back in college there were brief moments i genuinely wished for death for the pain to stop#and the meds are working#like these are miracle drugs#but i'm concerned we're just putting a rug over a problem and hoping it goes away

TSS is caused by a bacteria already present in most vaginas. When using a tampon or menstrual cup it is possible for too much blood to build up, allowing for the bacteria to get into the bloodstream. Implying that tampons cause it may make people believe there are more weird chemicals causing it and/or that the cup is without that possibility. Proper usage of either product should make TSS very unlikely, but it is true that pads are safer in that way.
As for the pads I have recently switched to a different brand of undyed/unscented pads and I find my skin is less irritated in general. All that being said:
If your periods cause debilitating cramps that make you faint or unable to move or generally unable to continue with normal life Call a doctor immediately
Throbbing pains down your legs are concerning. Incredibly heavy and long periods are concerning. Fainting is VERY concerning. Do NOT accept this as normal or blame it on a brand. Please go see a OB/GYN all of you. Do not normalize these dangerous symptoms.
i learned that in August 2014 Womenâs Voices for the Earth commissioned testing of four types of Always menstrual pads, manufactured by Procter & Gamble. The certified laboratory STAT Analysis Corporation analyzed the products for volatile organic compound.
âThe results of the testing indicate that both scented and unscented Always pads emit toxic chemicals, including chemicals identified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Toxicology Program, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, and the State of California Environmental Protection Agency as carcinogens, and reproductive and developmental toxins. None of these chemicals are disclosed on the product by the manufacturer.â (x)
#like seriously guys holy shit#menstrual pad#commercial pad#health#if your goal is safety information#the main info taken here should be to SEE A DOCTOR#all of those symptoms are VERY ALARMING#and the commercial pad is not to blame#you likely have a severe shift in hormones#many things can cause that from medications to thyroid development#extreme diet or exercise changes#anemia is most likely a result of this but can also be a cause#please go see a doctor what pads you are using is the least of your worries#do not allow young people to assume this is normal that is dangerous to them too#do not let some doctor tell you âhmm yeah periods hurt thats normalâ#if you are struggling or unable to complete normal daily tasks due to your period speak to a doctor#and use those words#doctors care about frequency and affect on daily life#that is their measure of severity#not a 10 or worst pain ever but âthis affects my ability to complete daily tasksâ#its dumb I know but thats how to speak their language

As an experienced human writer, I understand the importance of maintaining a healthy reproductive system, especially for women. Gynecology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on the female reproductive system, and consulting the best gynecologist in Jaipur can be crucial for addressing various health concerns.
Introduction to Gynecology and the Importance of Consulting a Specialist
Gynecology is a medical specialty that deals with the health and well-being of the female reproductive system, including the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and vagina. Regular visits to a gynecologist can help women maintain their overall health, detect and prevent potential issues, and receive personalized care and treatment. In Jaipur, the city's diverse population and growing healthcare needs have led to the emergence of several skilled gynecologists, each offering unique expertise and services.
Signs that Indicate You Should Consult a Gynecologist

Persistent Pelvic Pain:Â Chronic or recurrent pelvic pain can be a sign of various gynecological issues, such as ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or endometriosis. A gynecologist can perform a comprehensive evaluation and provide appropriate treatment.
Unusual Vaginal Discharge:Â If you notice changes in the color, consistency, or odor of your vaginal discharge, it's best to seek the advice of a gynecologist. This could be a sign of an infection or other underlying condition.
Difficulty Conceiving:Â If you and your partner have been trying to conceive for an extended period without success, a gynecologist can help identify any underlying fertility issues and provide guidance on the next steps.
Menopausal Symptoms:Â As women approach menopause, they may experience a range of symptoms, such as hot flashes, mood changes, and vaginal dryness. A gynecologist can help manage these symptoms and ensure a smooth transition through this natural life stage.
Persistent Urinary Issues:Â Conditions like urinary tract infections (UTIs), incontinence, or pelvic organ prolapse can all be addressed by a skilled gynecologist.

Why has no one prepped me for pre-menstrual chills and hot flashes?! Genuinely wouldnât stop shivering with chills and softly gasping for a solid hour. I had a minute where I gave in and tensed my entire body, but speaking to my bf for help shook me up again.
I was sweaty, my left leg still feels like itâs popped off like a Lego piece. The only way I fixed it was to put a heating pad on my pelvis for 10 minutes full blast.
I was wrapping myself under a thick blanket and wrapping my bf around me to try and get warm.
Doctors of tumblr, can I be in a god damn study for womenâs health over feelings like this? I didnât even start bleeding after and my leg still hurts.
Update: yeah, I had no idea it would also make me get a temp of 100.4. I passed out after an hour of work because I was losing my mind.
